A branch swings and hits you in the face, write a response to this occurrence in 20 different ways.
“O, the pain” he says then faints.
“I told you not to let go of it.”
“You’ve really done it this time.”
“What tree? I didn’t do anything to you” he says as he kicks its trunk a few times.
“Ouch,” he says but thinks in his mind how he now feels justified in getting back at his jungle guide.
“Oh, oh, oh! Come quick. I think I’ve broken something. Please, help me.”
“Oh man, good mornin’ Willy. I didn’t even see that coming” he said as he continues to rub his nose with a smile on his face.”
“Well, evidently the tree seems to have something to say. Perhaps we just witnessed a manifestation of its joys in finding travelers among her roots.”
“That does it. No more, will I be traveling in this filthy place. Oh, get me out of this stinkin’ fresh air.”
For a moment he was still with branch upon his face. The shock of the moment soon passed and he replaced the branch with his hand and gently moved the branch aside. He looked at it for a moment, then looked up at the tree and thought to himself, ‘truly a lesson to be learned.’ Then moved along the path.
Immediately he dropped to the ground and began to sob uncontrollably. Nothing had hurt greater than a full on blow to the face by a branch from a nearby tree. He was confused and felt alone at this moment knowing nothing could take the pain away. This thought caused him to commense into an even greater depth of sorrow and sobbing.
“Hey! What’s this” He quickly spun around and before another leaf hit the ground the man had unsheathed his sword and cut off the branch.
The branch came but he ducked before it hit him. This reflex had been instated from the tender ages when he would train with his father on the prairies.
“Why? Why did this have to happen?” he said in a roar and demanded an answer from his companions. “Why coulnd’t it have been one of you to take a branch to the face. You’re not the ones who have to attend to the sacred task that I do. Please, next time, will someone catch the branch before it hits me?”
”What was that?”
